Edelman's broken foot

New England Patriots top receiver Julian Edelman left Sunday's game during the final play of the first quarter against the New York Giants with a left foot injury, it was announced later that he would not return. He was tackled By linebacker Jasper Brinkley. Edelman helped the Patriots convert a first down with a 12 – yard carriage – and – Run play on third – and– 4, at the end of the play he limped off the field in pain. Out of peer frustration Edelman slammed his helmet on the ground before finding a seat on the bench. After he sat, he took off his left cleat to be examined by the members of the medical and athletic training staff. After a brief examination Edelman put his left cleat back on and limped his way to the locker room for a more thorough evaluation. Because of Edelman's absence after the first quarter, number 3 receiver Danny Amendola noticed an almost immediate increase in the playing time in 2 receive packages specifically with number 4 receiver Aaron Dobson bumping one up on the depth chart. Edelman entered the game as the teams leading receiver, with 7 touchdowns and 57 receptions for 639 yards. In a detailed reflection of how he played in every package and his value to the team. Edelman entered the game on Sunday having played 87.7% of the teams offensive snaps.
